Iím the very lucky owner of two beautiful grey horses, Jakhiri and Charley Girl, work as a French teacher and have blossomed into a fully fledged Endurance obsessive over the last few years.

Jakhiri (Jack) is an 11 year old Arabian gelding who has represented Scotland, carried me 50 miles to our GTF and won rosettes in dressage and jumping. I am so proud of my handsome lad.

Charley is 25 this year and I have owned her since she was 6 so we have an amazing bond and she is gentle and kind, has taught several others to ride and still relishes the chance to hurtle round a Pleasure ride dislocating poor Alisonís wrists.

As Membership Secretary I am committed to warmly welcoming members new and old to our fabulous and friendly branch. A bientot!

Post Script:

At the end of 2013, Katie Keith and Alison Saunders donated The Charley Girl Trophy in honour of Charley Girl who died, aged 32, in October 2013, having taken up Endurance Riding at age 17.  Charley Girl was a redoubtable veteran who loved the sport.

In her memory, the Charley Girl Trophy will be awarded to the horse, aged 17 years or above, who has completed the greatest number of endurance rides in the season, of any distance from pleasure rides upwards.
